Minutes: Computer Skills Sharing Session - June 9

Today's session was limited to reviewing our access to the EMR on Meditech. We reviewed the following functions:

View All Visits
My Personal List
My Panel
Viewing lab results in standard view, list view, and graph view.
Citrix access to Meditech from off-site

(You can relive/review all the excitement by viewing some amateur demonstration videos listed at http://dvpc.com/meditech/ . When the video begins to play, hit Alt-Enter to play the video fullscreen.)

We also reviewed access to "Clinical Pharmacology Matters" via the External Links icon found in Meditech.

Edan mentioned that MDS will set up accounts for physicians who request one. This will allow you to view lab results online, via the MDS website, for labwork done in their system. I just signed up here:

The MDS Main Page is here:

PROPOSALS FOR FUTURE SESSIONS:

Different web browsers, organizing your bookmarks/favourites, and useful websites.

The many faces of Medline (PubMed, EBSCO, Ovid, MD Consult), online texts (STAT!Ref, Ovid)

Researching and recording PLPs for Mainport... no paper involved.

Efficient use of Groupwise email client.

And more. Suggestions?
